Stephen Dearmond Philemon, Sr., 70, of Holloways Church Rd., Lexington died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Rowan Medical Center after several years of declining health.
A Graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Wade Powell officiating. Burial will follow.
Mr. Philemon was born June 10, 1943, in Davidson County, to Wade Dearmond Philemon and Anna Pauline Hamm Laney. He was a retired employee of NC Finishing Company, a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, and was in the Army National Guard. Preceding him in death were his parents, a half-brother, Theodore Everhart and a sister, Nikki Slemp.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Bowers Philemon of the home; two sons, Stephen Dearmond Philemon, Jr. (Lynn) of CT, Chad Lee Philemon (Lisa) of Lexington; a daughter, Dana Richardson, (Harold “Buddy”) of High Point; seven grandchildren, Reanna Koontz, Stephen Dearmond Philemon, 3rd, Samantha Leonard, Michael Leonard, Jonathan Philemon, Mark Philemon, Mitchell Philemon; four great grandchildren, Khloe Koontz, Abigale Philemon, Aidan Philemon and Eli Philemon.
