Stephen Alan Rule, 64, of High Point, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024. Born on August 11, 1960, in Charleston, West Virginia, Steve spent his youth and early adulthood in New Jersey and North Carolina, his journey later taking him to Ohio and Michigan before returning to North Carolina, where he spent his final years.
Steve began his working life at Craftwood Industries, simultaneously earning a Business degree from High Point College during this time. He later joined Lowe's Hardware, where he rose from warehouse employee to distribution site manager over the course of his successful career. Known for his dedication and commitment to his staff, he consistently earned high praise from his employees and colleagues alike.
A unique person, Steve possessed a sharp intellect, a love for language, a talent for music, and a distinctive sense of humor that continuously entertained the lives of those around him. His humor and self-expression were uniquely his own. Steve also enjoyed cooking, walking in the woods, reading, spending time with dogs, visiting New York City, and relaxing by the North Carolina coast.
Above all, his greatest love was his daughter, Amber, whom he affectionately called "his little flower,” and with whom he loved spending time.
Steve is survived by his beloved daughter, Amber Ferrell and husband Curtis; his mother, Beatrice “Bee” Rule; his brother, Mark Rule and wife Trish, and his grandchildren Nicholas Ferrell and Chase Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Alan Rule.
A private family service will be held to honor Steve's memory.
