Stephen Ross Caudill, age 79 of Lexington passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday morning, August 18th, 2021.
Steve was born on July 9th, 1942 to Jack L. Caudill and Estelle Williams. He was a scientist at heart and obtained a Masters in Biology from Appalachian State University. He spent many years teaching and passing his love of science on to others, including his sons. He was an accomplished high school athlete and supported his son’s athletics, often coaching them on various city recreational teams. Steve was a loving father and husband and embodied a kindness and decency given to everyone he encountered. His love, humor, and wisdom will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington on Saturday, August 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm. A short memorial service will follow at 2pm in the Funeral Home Chapel and livestreamed at www.facebook.com/davidson.funeralhome .

Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Betty P. Caudill. Surviving are his three sons, Stephen R. Caudill II of Smyrna, GA, Wesley B. Caudill of Lexington, NC and Daniel P. Caudill of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Ashley S. Caudill and granddaughter, Claire M. Caudill.
