Jacob Steve Myers, age 75 of W. Old Highway 64, Lexington, died Monday in the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after 2 months of declining health.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday January 8 at Reeds Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Myers was born October 22, 1933 in Davidson County to Clayton Osborn and Olga Mae Beck Myers. He was a retired supervisor with Coble Diary, and a member of the Reeds Civitan Club and Reeds American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Darrell Myers, in 1974, a brother, Darrell Myers; sisters, Vera Norton and Frances Parmeley, and brother in law, Norman Beck.
Steve is survived by his wife, Frances Brinson Myers of the home; his son Greg Myers and wife, Charlotte, of Lexington; his daughter, Judy Myers Bates and husband, Tony, of Wilmington NC; four grandchildren, Terry and Cody Bates, Morgan Myers, Felica Watkins, and Joseph Watkins and a great-grandchild Gavin Watkins; two brothers, Donald Myers and wife Sylvia, John W. Myers and wife Georgie all of Lexington; and two sisters, Gail Beck and Brenda Sowers and husband Don all of Lexington.
The family will be receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
