Steve "Sl" Hanes

Steve Lee Hanes 82 of Hanes Acres Drive, Lexington passed away Thursday February 18, 2010 at his home. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Good Hope United Methodist Church where he was a member conducted by Rev. Chris Bennett and Rev. Darrell Cartrette burial to follow in the church cemetery. He was born January 25, 1928 in Davidson County to Seth Lee Hanes and Cora Shoaf Hanes. He was retired from Coke Cola Bottling Plant and honorably served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Elmer, Earnest, John and Joe Hanes and his sister Isabella. Surviving are his wife, Earlene Paige Hanes of the home. Three sons: Steve Hanes and wife Carolyn, Ricky Hanes and wife Wanda and Jeff Hanes and wife Peggy all of Lexington. One Daughter, Gina Hanes Russell and husband Albert of Lexington. Eight Grandchildren and Nineteen Great Grandchildren and one sister, Pearlene. The family will see friends at Davidson Funeral Home Saturday from 6-8pm Saturday and at other times at the home.
