Steve William White

Steve William White went to meet his Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 8:30 in the morning.  He was 74 years of age.

Steve was born in Lexington, NC on March 25, 1949, to Claude and Belva Lea White.  He attended Welcome Elementary School and graduated from North Davidson High School in 1967.  Steve also graduated from Davidson County Community College with an associate degree as a machinist.

In 1970, Steve joined the US Navy and proudly served his country until his discharge in 1974.  He was able to visit many countries during his service, most of which he greatly enjoyed.

Steve was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Welcome.

He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years.

Some of his favorite activities were going to Myrtle Beach and listening to Southern Gospel music.

Surviving is his wife, of 52 years, Carla, of Midway. Daughters, Amanda Berrier, and her husband Steven, of Lexington. Sandra Goins, and her husband Glenn of Welcome. Four grandchildren, Kira and Hunter Berrier and Jillianne and Luke Burrow. One sister, Linda Nifong, and her husband Charlie. A niece, Jana Eanes, a nephew, Aaron Eanes, and his wife Deitra, his mother-in-law, Mary Whitley, a brother-in-law, Anthony Whitley, all of Welcome, an uncle, Bob Davis, of Winston-Salem, and many beloved cousins.

Our lives are emptier without his presence, but he will always live in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care of Steve, and Kimberly Wright, PA-C, and staff of Friedberg Family Medicine.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Welcome, 404 Welcome-Arcadia Road, Lexington, North Carolina 27295.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.  Pastor Chris Griggs will be officiating the service.
