Steven Edwin Comer, Sr.

Steven Edwin Comer, Sr. age 87 of Warfford Circle Lexington passed away Thursday December 24, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist-Lexington Medical Center.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park/Open Air Mausoleum with Rev. Amos Mashburn officiating. Those attending should use COVID pandemic protocol.

Steven was born in Davidson County November 26, 1933 to Walter Floyd Comer and Stella Jarvis Comer. He was a retired employee of Dacotah Cotton Mill where he worked for over forty years. He was a hard working man that provided for his family and who just lost his loving wife of 69 years, Shirley Jo Owens Comer on December 2, 2020. Other family members that preceded him in death are his parents; a daughter, Deborah Kay Comer Hughes; sisters, Betty Cashwell, Jane Leonard and Lenora Clark; brothers, Richard Comer, Billy Comer and Danny Comer.

Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Munday (Russell) of Lexington; sons, Steven Edwin “Eddie” Comer, Jr. (Jill) and David Scott Comer all of Lexington; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Donese McBride of Lexington; sister-in-law, Voncille Comer, Lexington and brother-in-law, Herbert Clark of Lexington.
