Stevie “Steve” Joe Hedrick passed away Thursday evening December 6, 2012, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House after several years of declining health.
A funeral service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held 2:00 P. M. Monday, December 10, at Maple Grove Church of the Brethen with Rev. Grady Blackburn and Dean Thomason officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Post 3074 will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will see friends 3:00 to 5:00 Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
Steve was born in Davidson County August 19th , 1950 to Clarence David Hedrick and Rachael Frances Wrenn Hedrick. He was of the Presbyterian Faith and worked for Just Marketing touring with the Crown Royal Racing show car before retirement. He was a veteran of the US Marines during the Vietnam Conflict, a life member of VFW Post 3074 and DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving Steve are: his wife, Susan Smith Hedrick of the home; son Kelly Hedrick (Monica) of Clemmons; daughter, Jennifer Housden ( David) of Kernersville; brother, Jimmy Hedrick (Linda) of Clemmons; sister, Beverly Myers of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Hedrick and Alexander and Kaylee Housden; 2 great-grandchildren, Brianna and Kaylee Hedrick.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care Centers of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
