Sue Bates

Sue Tussey Bates, 80, a resident of Lexington, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her residence. Sue was born on June 17, 1941 in Davidson County to the late Clifton and Mildred Tussey. She retired from Reynolds American after many years of service. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome. Sue enjoyed working in the yard, when she was able, and loved her cats and dogs. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Bates; a sister, Joetta Tussey McGee; and a brother, Bobby Tussey.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Sue is survived by a brother-in-law, Claude Bates; a sister-in-law, Barbara Bates; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gaynell Brown, Linda King, and Sylvia Pleasant; and her dog Bella.
