Mrs. Carrice Sue James Deal, 81, of Lynda Lane, Welcome, died Tuesday, January 18 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 22 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Dr. John Beeg. Burial will follow at the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the home.
Mrs. Deal was born March 3, 1929 in Madison County, GA to Carrice William James and Susie Smith James. She was a graduate of Evans College of Commerce in Concord and retired from Argus Group Insurance in Winston Salem after 31 years of service. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and had lived in the Lexington/Welcome area since 1959. Preceding her in death was her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Deal.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Donald Deal of the home; her sons, D. Reid Deal and W. Scott Deal, both of Welcome; her daughter, Lisa Ann Deal Lawson, and husband, Marvin, of Welcome; her brothers, Frank James, and wife, Shirley of Concord; her grandchildren, Thad Allen, Donnie Deal, Stephanie Lawson; her strep grandson, Shannon Lawson; and her great grandchildren, Kaleb Allen, Katelyn Allen, Triston Allen, Jordan Deal, Olivia Deal and Kezlie Deal and a step great granddaughter, Taylor Lawson.
