Sue Kearns Haltom

Betty Sue Kearns Haltom, 83, of Lexington, passed away Sunday May 5, 2024, at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Bethany Church with Dr. Chuck Hutchens officiating services. Burial will follow the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.

Sue was born January 7, 1941, in Davidson County to Raymond S. Kearns and Lucille Barringer Kearns. She was a graduate of High Point College and became a teacher. She left the teaching profession to raise four boys. She also loved teaching children in Sunday School at Bethany. Sue enjoyed traveling and working with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Howard Haltom, and three brothers, Nick Kearns, Ned Kearns, and Neil Kearns.

Surviving are four sons, Guy Haltom (Katie) of High Point, Allen Haltom (Tammy) of Lexington, Lee Haltom (Lisa) of Kernersville and Glen Haltom of Rockwell; and 6 grandchildren, Aaron (Brittany), Andrew (Sofia), Olivia, Quincy, Grady and Pacey.
