Sue Manning Hodgin

September 6, 1934 — November 11, 2017

Sue Manning Hodgin, 83, of Westover Drive, died Saturday, November 11, at High Point Medical Center.    A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, November 17 at Grace Episcopal Church, by the Rev. M. Alton Plummer.    The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Undercroft.    Sue was born September 6, 1934 in Nash County to Frank and Jettie Kemp Manning.  Her undergraduate studies took place at Louisburg and Greensboro Colleges.  She earned her master’s degree in library science from the University of South Carolina and was a librarian for Rockingham County Community College and in the Davidson County Schools.  She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and sang for many years in the choir.  A regular at the Black Chicken Coffee House, she was also involved with the Rotary Club.   She is survived by many who loved her, including her husband of 60 years, Hugo; her son, Hubert and wife, Michele, of Venice, CA; her daughter, Susan and husband, Mike, of Cranston, RI; and her grandchildren, Harrison, Emma, and Henry.   In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Pastor’s Pantry of Lexington.
