Sue Karen Nance

Sue Nance, 81, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Pelican Health in Thomasville.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at New Jerusalem Reformed Church, 4104 Jerusalem Rd. Lexington, NC. 27292, with Rev. Tony Varner officiating, with a committal service following at the graveside. A visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St. Lexington, NC 27292.

Sue was born on July 24, 1941, in Davidson County to Conard and Mildred Yates Koontz. She worked most of her life as a Teacher’s Assistant for Davidson County at Silver Valley. Sue was very active in the senior community, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, was named Ms. Senior Davidson County in 2005 and Ms. Senior North Carolina in 2006. She loved her church, New Jerusalem, and her family was her pride and joy. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Huitt Koontz, and sister Joan Michael.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Forrest Nance, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Kempka and husband, David of Charlotte; son, Jeffrey Nance and wife, Jennifer, of Lexington; brother, Larry Koontz and wife, Nancy of Winston-Salem; and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel, and Emalee Nance.

Sue will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
