Swannie G. Carrick Rogers, 95, of Marion Drive, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday December 20, 2025, in the presence of family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington, with Pastor Ronnie Bowles officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Swannie was born September 16, 1930, in Guilford County to Mack G. Carrick and Lessie Kinney Carrick. She graduated from Linwood High School in 1949. Swannie first met the love of her life, Charles M. Rogers, at the Lexington Skating Rink. The couple married on December 20, 1951, after Charles finished Army basic training during the Korean War. Charles and Swannie were a true love story and it is only fitting that she left this earthly world holding his hand on their 74th wedding anniversary. After many years of working together at Kayby Mills, they both retired. Swannie then became Charles’ self-proclaimed “Supervisor” around the house and in their yard.
Swannie may have been petite, but she made a big presence to all that knew her with her witty spirit and giving heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and later, her great-grandchildren and lived to see them all smile. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde Carrick and Ray Carrick; and cherished granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Preston.
Swannie leaves behind her loving spouse, Charles Rogers, of the home; two daughters, Donna Keziah (Howard Jr) of Charlotte and Kim Kirkman (Jeff) of Lexington; her twin sister, Flonnie Thomason of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Heather Vaartjes (John), Carisa Benford, Alyssa Minshall (Robbie) and Mike Preston; 8 great-grandchildren, Liah, Kara, Charlie, Emery, Indie, Preston, Maggie and Lidia.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County, especially nurses Pam and Becky, for their excellent care.
The family also extends their heartfelt gratitude to Swannie’s loving and devoted caregivers, Krystle, Frances, Stephanie and Deana.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
