Sylvia Jean Gallimore

Sylvia Jean Gallimore, 79, of Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Center, died Wednesday, April 26, at the center.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Rummage officiating. A private burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of her niece, Susan Carter, at Old Cypress Drive, Winston-Salem.  Miss. Gallimore was born June 7, 1937, in Davidson County, to William McKinley Gallimore and Jessie Billings Gallimore. She was a graduate of Montreat – Anderson College of Black Mountain and a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Prior to her retirement she served as payroll clerk at T.I. Industries for many years. Her parents preceded her in death.  Surviving are her sister, Marie Gallimore Carter of Lexington; nephew, Steve Carter of Lexington; niece, Susan Carter of Winston-Salem; great-niece, Allison Carter; great-nephews, Craig Carter and Mark Swicegood (Danielle); great-great-niece, Hannah Carter; and great-great- nephew, Thomas Gobble.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
