Mrs. Sylvia Jean Torrence Norris, 67, of Swicegood Rd, died Saturday, March 17 at home with family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, March 21 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, by the Revs. J. C. Miles and Herman Powell. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Norris was born January 6, 1951 in Davidson County to Fred Lewis Torrence and Edith Katherine Jenkins Torrence. She retired from Lexington Medical Center and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served in the Ladies Ministry. Her sister, Helen “Scottie” Craven, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Ray Norris of the home; her son, Terry Dewayne Norris of Lexington; her daughters, Michelle Lanier (Kenneth) of Lexington, and Etta Marie Norris Baker, of Charleston, SC; her brothers, Buddy Torrence (Vickie) and Robert Torrence, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Kallie, Logan, Lanie, Addison, TT, Taylor, Dustin, Victoria, Ryan, and two great-grandchildren; Haylie, Aiden.
