Sylvia Smith Snyder

Sylvia Snyder 84 of Winston Salem, NC passed away Wednesday, August 3rd 2022 at Bermuda Commons. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, August 6th 2022 at Faith Church with Pastors Keith Brock and Michael Gates officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at Sylvia’s home during the evening. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sylvia was born January 26th 1938 in Forsyth County to Wiley Alexander Smith and Sophia Elizabeth Sofley Smith. Sylvia graduated from Griffith High School in 1956. She was always very proud to say she was one of nine siblings that graduated from Griffith High School. She retired from Western Electric as a purchasing agent and was a charter member of Faith Church where she used her piano talents for primary children and adults. She loved and cherished all her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wade Snyder, sisters; Sarah Mendenhall Hiatt, Nancy Kiser, Joan Fine, Lola Grey Kirby, Thelma Tuttle Kennedy; brothers; Wiley Alexander Smith Jr., Reynolds Lybrook Smith, Harry Smith and Tommy Hulin Smith. Surviving are her sons; Dale Snyder (Sherry) and Craig Snyder (JoAnn). Grandchildren; Danielle Whittington, Emily Snyder and Travis Stack (Jessica). Great Grandchildren; Hallie Whittington and Emma Stack. A wonderful host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a very special thank you to her niece Susan Medley and care taker Janice Robertson.
