Sylvia Ann Surratt

Sylvia Ann Surratt, 87, died at 5:26 AM on February 17, 2006 at the Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, North Carolina. Sylvia was born November 9, 1938, at Erlanger, North Carolina, the fourth child of George Lee and Margaret Phelps Surratt. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lonnie Rayvon Surratt, Bryan Randall Surratt and wife Mickey, sisters Doris Jean Everhart and husband Ray Donald, Gail Camelyn Surratt, Margaret Lorraine Burke and husband Larry, Myra Jayne Walser, and several nieces and nephews.

Sylvia is survived by brothers James Thomas Surratt (wife Sue deceased), Jerry Dan Surratt and wife Betty, Robert William Surratt, sisters Hazel Ruth Shook (husband Bill deceased), and Leigh Ann Delguerico (husband Tony deceased). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia never married. She spent her life helping her family and others in any way she could, always urging to get everyone to make good life choices, and do the right thing. She would occasionally turn someone down if she thought they were asking only to continue in making bad choices, but she never totally gave up on anyone, always keeping them in her prayers. She was not a member of any organized religion but spent much time studying the Bible seeking the truth of her Heavenly Father and her Lord and Saviour, the only begotten son of God, Jesus, the Messiah.

Sylvia will be buried at the family cemetery on George Surratt Road, Lexington, North Carolina. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Hospice of Davidson County, or the charity of your choice.
