Tad Proctor

Tad Brandon Proctor, 62, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly at the family home in Banner Elk.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 13 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Kirk Tutterow.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Tad was born November 29, 1961 in Davidson County to Sidney E. Proctor, Jr. and Barbara Smith Proctor.  He graduated from Lexington Senior High, where he played on many sports teams including Football, Golf and Tennis.  He was also a graduate of Lees McRae College with an associate degree in business, where he was a member of the LMS ski team and a graduate of Catawba College with a BS in Business.  He started his tile career at Midstate Tile and went on to start his own company Proctor & Associates as an import tile wholesale agent. Tad was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Usher Committee.  He was also a member of Fellowship Hall Fundraising committee and helped organize the annual golf tournament.

He was an avid sportsman and had a passion for working with children as a coach for the YMCA Youth programs and assisting Troup 205 scout leaders on hiking and camping trips.  Tad enjoyed many hobbies such as golf, fly-fishing, boating, snow-skiing, and traveling with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Julie Lopp Proctor; his sons, Brandon Proctor and Jordan Proctor (Finance Katie London); his brothers Sid Proctor (Miranda), and Jeff Proctor ( Linda) and his granddaughter, Arianna Proctor.
