Tamara Dayre Moorefield Walker, 54, of Oakwood Road, died Monday, October 20, 2014, at her home.
A celebration of her life will be 12 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Revs. Keith Carroll, Wilson Harris, and Luke Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014, and other times at the home.
Mrs. Walker was born November 9, 1959, in Davidson County, to William “Bill” Franklin Moorefield and Mona Grimmett Link. She loved baking sweets and making cakes for her friends and family. She was a caring and helpful person who served as a nurse for many years. She loved her family and was especially passionate about her grandkids. Her husband, Dana Allen Walker preceded her in death on January 7, 2013.
Tamara is survived by her loving family which includes her son, Phillip Allen Walker of the home; daughter, Courtney Williams and husband Brandon of Lexington; grandchildren, Jada Brooke Williams, Sophie Olivia Williams, and Payton Elora Williams; father, Bill Franklin Moorefield and wife Cindi of Lexington; mother, Mona Grimmett Link and husband Rayvon of Lexington; brothers, Jeff Moorefield and his daughter, Kristen Moorefield, and Terry Moorefield and his children, Holly Daley, Brandon and Justin Moorefield, all of Lexington; sister, Tonya Trantham and husband Mike and their children, Ashley Hedrick and Stephanie Varner of Lexington; step-brother, Tony Link and his daughter, Amanda Link of Lexington; father and mother-in-law, Joe Allen and Rosalind Smith Walker; several aunts, uncles, and first, second, and third cousins.
A memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo for donations.
