Ted Hill Sr.

August 24, 1924 — May 27, 2017

Mr. Ted Brown Hill, Sr. of Lexington, went to join his loving wife of 70 years in heaven on Friday night, surrounded by his family.    A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 31 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. David Robinson.  Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.   Ted was born August 24, 1924 in Davidson County to Simon Brown and Lacy Hill. He retired from McLeans Trucking Company, where he served as a Teamsters Local 391 shop steward for 30 years.  He spent his life taking care of his children and his loving wife, Ann.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Annie Lee Hill, his daughter in law, Patricia Ann Hill, and his grandchildren, Angie Marie Hill and Tyler Pope Hill.    He is survived by his children, Ted Brown Hill, Jr, Jimmy Dale Hill (Debbie) and his daughter, Sandra Ann Hill (Larry); his grandchildren, Teressa Hill Johnson (David), Joshua Dale Hill, Joseph Daniel Hill (Shellina), and Marcus Aaron Hill; his great grandchildren, Rachael Marie Jordan (Zach), Olivia Ann Crotts, Landon Allen Crotts, Jacob Samuel Hill and Jackson Daniel Hill; and his honorary son and daughter, George and Judy Huffman.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church, 214 Andrew Sink Road, Lexington NC 27292.    While we are deeply saddened at our daddy’s passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now reunited with his loving wife. Our family has been truly blessed to have shared our lives with such a kind and wonderful man.
