Ted Mason

Ted Coatland Mason, age 91, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Brookdale of Lexington.   A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Jersey Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Riggsbee officiating.   The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Sunday at the church, prior to the service.   Mr. Mason was born June 11, 1926 in Emanuel County Georgia to Clifford Seals Mason and Lillian Hooks Mason. Mr. Mason was a graduate of Swainsboro High School, graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College, and also attended the University of South Carolina.  He was retired from Fluor Daniel Construction as a Construction Manager, after 30 years of service. Mr. Mason was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Jersey Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Louise Gibson, Ruby Brinson, and Lillian Gifford as well as several brothers.     Surviving are his wife, Barbara Newton Mason of the home; one son, Ted Damon Mason (Kellie) of Greenville SC; one daughter, Karen Mason of Randleman; five grandchildren, John Mason, Robert Smith (Christina), Nicole Beeson (Travis), Heather Armstrong (Brandon), and Cliff Mason; and six great-grandchildren.   Memorials may be sent to the Hinkle Hospice House at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to the Jersey Baptist Church General Fund at 2920 Jersey Baptist Church Road Lexington, NC 27292.
