Wilfred Ted Pope, 71, of Tyro Road, died Monday, September 29, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House, following an extended illness.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 1 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Clyde Akers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Pope was born September 26, 1943, in Davidson County, to Clarence Arthur “C.A.” Pope and Arlona Fritts Pope. He was a heavy equipment operator with Barnhill construction and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his loving wife, Carol York Pope, of the home; sons, Chris Pope and Michael Pope and wife, Zan, all of Lexington; daughter, Hava Rhodes of Myrtle Beach; stepdaughter, Renee Byerly and husband, Buck, of Kernersville; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and brother, Keith Pope and wife, Lynn, of Lexington.
