Ted Ray, 83, of Lexington, died Friday at High Point Regional Hospital in High Pont.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nick Allan Atkins, Rev. Jimmy Tatum and Rev. Ted Ray Jr. officiating services.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Ray was born July 23, 1933 in Robinson County to Rev. Wade Hampton Ray and Emily Margaret Suggs Ray. Mr. Ray was a member of Victory Holiness Church and a Korean War veteran where he earned the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Medal and the United Defense Service Medal. He was member of the Marine Corps League, Attachment 260. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Edward Thomas Ray and Gene Austin Ray.
Surviving is his wife Emma Louise Meagher Ray of the home; one son, Rev. Ted Ray Jr.; one daughter, Debbie Ray Atkins; two grandchildren, Rev. Nick Allan Atkins Jr. and Ray Jesse Atkins; four great-grandchildren, Jessa Abigail Atkins, Nicki Tyler Atkins, Ava Rose Atkins and Hampton Ray Atkins.
