Teena Maria Ashby

Teena Maria Lanier Ashby, 67, of Davidson County, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held to honor her life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM, Paul's Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church.

Teena was born on August 10, 1957, in Davidson County, to the late Russell Bruce Lanier and Evelyn Warner Walser.

Teena had a deep love for the past, finding beauty in every antique she collected—each piece holding a story, much like the ones she cherished sharing with family. But of all the treasures in her life, none compared to the love she had for her family, especially her great-granddaughter. Little Emsley was her pride and joy, the light in her eyes, and the sweetest reminder that love is the most valuable heirloom of all.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Joe Ashby, of the home; daughter, Jody Creech (Allen), of Lexington; brothers, Gary H. Love (Susie), of Lexington, and Marty C. Lanier (Vickie), of Lexington; sister, Sylvia Love Burke (Frank), of Asheville; grandson, Jonathan Everette (Racheal); great granddaughter, Emsley Everette; and brother in law, David Ashby (Teresa).

She will be remembered with love and all who were blessed to have her in their life will carry on her legacy of kindness and love.
