Teresa (Terri) Michelle Smith

Teresa (Terri) Michelle Smith, 49, of Welcome, North Carolina passed away on January 14, 2026, at her home.

Terri was born in Rockwell, NC to Connie Smith and the late Shirley Hughes on May 27, 1976, and graduated from East Rowan High School in 1994. Terri worked as an office manager for ServPro of West Forsyth for nearly 15 years, and then as office manager for Rainbow Restoration of Winston-Salem.

Remaining to cherish Terri’s memory are her son, Logan Smith (Rachel); father, Connie Smith (Jennifer); brothers Christopher Hughes and Michael Hughes (Sabrena).

Terri was adventurous and traveled all over, finding joy in places like Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Montana, or Cancún. She was also a lover of music and attended dozens of live performances from Alanis Morissette to Alan Jackson to New Kids on the Block. Yet, she often preferred to be at home watching crime dramas with her beloved cat, Steven.

No one was a stranger to Terri, and she made friends wherever she went. She cared for people and approached everyone with a smile, a joke, and usually a hug by the time she left. Despite the hardships of life, she was always a bright light. Her kind spirit will live on through her family and the friends she made—because Goonies never say die.

A celebration of Terri's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in Jamestown, NC.
