Terry Byers, 74, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his family.
There are no formal services at this time.
Terry was born on March 29, 1951, in Guilford County, to the late Jesse James Byers and Martha Harris Byers. He worked for many years in the furniture industry from which he later retired. Spending time in the outdoors was an important part of his life, whether it was by playing golf and softball in his younger years, taking walks with his family, or fishing with his grandchildren.
A part of his heritage in which he possessed great pride was the Native American lineage in his family, and he displayed his love for the culture by maintaining a stunning arrowhead collection and respecting the way of life.
Terry is remembered for his loving heart and always being present with his family, including his beloved parakeets. His greatest passion was his family, and he absolutely adored being a grandfather. His grandchildren remember his jokes and sense of humor, always being quick to offer a warm smile.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Byers, and sister, Libby Byers.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Krem Byers, of the home; sons, Sam Byers, Thoarak Sambath, James Byers, and Hunter Byers; daughters, Chanthearin Sambath (Chreng Khloeum), ChanTheary Sambath (Tabitha), and Tiffany Witcher; brother, Sam Byers (Pam); brother-in-law, Bunly Mom; sisters-in-law, Kry Mom, Thy Mom, and Tha Mom; grandchildren, Katherine Chreng, Kaitlin Roldan (Anthony), Joseph Auten, Alexander Auten, Vegeta Chreng; several more grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
