Terry Robert Yeager, 76, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House, with his loving family by his side.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.
Terry was born on February 3, 1949, to the late James William Yeager and Lorraine Rosborough Yeager, and grew up in Buffalo, NY.
Primed with a B.A. in Business, one of his proudest accomplishments was becoming known as The Giant of the Outlet Industry, where he played a key role in shaping the modern retail concept. Yet, Terry was far more than a man of business. His lifelong love of hockey carried him through leagues from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, where he played with power and passion for an incredible 65 years.
Terry’s boundless creativity extended beyond the rink and the boardroom into his deep love of music. He poured his heart into the guitar and bass, drawing inspiration from his favorite band, The Beatles. When he played, one could often hear a gentle echo of their influence woven seamlessly with his own unique style.
His big ideas and electric personality opened doors not only in the world of business but also in the hearts of everyone who knew him. With his quick wit, generous humor, and accepting nature, Terry had a way of making people feel comfortable and free to be themselves.
His family will forever feel his warmth each time a Beatles song begins to play, and smiles will continue to rise as they remember his joyful, lighthearted outlook on life.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, April Bales Yeager.
Left to carry on his love are his daughter, Lisa Yeager (Brian Barbour), of Greensboro; brother, Richard Brace (Lynn), of CA; granddaughter, Victoria Barbour; and great granddaughter, Lorraine.
