Thama Monteith Hudson

Thama Monteith Hudson, 73, of Gumtree Road, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at her home after a sudden illness. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Milburn Trent. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Hudson was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Swain County to Sewell B. Monteith and Julie Burns Monteith. She was a charter member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and worked as a nurse's aid. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Hudson, who died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gay McCarn, Ovilla Payne and Rema Sisk. Surviving are two sisters, Gleta Wilson and Ruth Musgrave, both of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials can be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 6261 N.C. Highway 8, Lexington, NC 27292
