Thelma Boan Brank

September 13, 1937 — February 19, 2010

Heaven’s choir needed another angel voice in it, so on February 19, 2010, Thelma Boan Brank got the priviledge of joining in. Now she is resting peacefully at her sweet Savior’s feet singing praises to Him like she has longed to do for so long. She was surrounded by her family as Jesus allowed her to trade in her tired body for a glorious new one free of pain and she is now in complete and perfect peace.   Celebration of her life will be 4:00 pm Sunday (February 21, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by her son-in-law, Preacher Mike Fritts.  Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the funeral home.   Thelma Boan Brank blessed this world with her sweet presence on September 13, 1937, in Union County, S.C., a treasure to her parents, Wade Loran and Mabel Kelly Boan. They were in heaven awaiting her arrival along with her brother, Junior Boan and her sisters, Mildred Pankey and Liddie Dunn. Waiting to join the family reunion are her brother, Murtis Boan and sister, Nora Watson.   On October 24, 1952, she married the love of her life, Charles Ray Brank. The love and friendship they shared over the years stood the test of time and got stronger and sweeter everyday…especially when he mastered the gift of “breakfasts in bed”! Together their love gave them six precious gifts. Sherry Nadine Brank, Patricia Ray Brank Fritts and her husband, Charles Michael Fritts, Myra Elizabeth Brank Hepler and her husband, Larry Wayne Heper, Charles Ray Brank Jr., Joni Faith Brank and Clifton Kelly Brank and his wife, Teresa Hannah Brank. These gifts then gave Grandma her “sunshines” on earth. Deirdre Kay Bauer, Brandy Fritts Whicker, Charles Henry Wade Brank, Justin David Eli Brank, Timothy Lewis Brank, Danielle Faith Brank, Kelly Ann Brank, and Charles Reid Brank. And then her latest pleasures on earth making her last days more than joyful were her great-grandbabies, Maddie Grace Whicker, Ellie Kate Whicker and Alexander Drake Brank (who will be joining us soon).   Thelma Boan Brank was the most graceful, compassionate, loving, humble, and wise lady. She was a powerful prayer warrior who loved her Jesus and her family with all her heart. She never ever missed an opportunity to make sure to ask everyone she saw if they knew Jesus Christ… and if not, she made sure they learned how to make Him their personal Savior. She adored her church family at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.   “Grandma” will be missed tremendously but her Christian legacy will live on in the lives of all who knew her. The fingerprints she left on our souls will forever point us to the cross!   Thelma would be so happy if instead of flowers, all memorials were made to help the ministry she loved so much continue to grow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 591, Lexington, NC 27293.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
