Our beloved mother and grandmother, Thelma Brinkley Daniels, 87, of Salem Road, Lexington was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday, April 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Welcome, where she was a member, with the Rev. Mark Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son on Salem Rd.
Ms. Daniels was born January 21, 1925, in Davidson County, to Fernando Lee Brinkley and Jenny Hinkle Brinkley. She retired at the age of 76 from Stanley Furniture. Cooking and caring for her family and enjoying the outdoors was a big part of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Webster Brinkley, Joe Brinkley, Walt Brinkley, Roy Brinkley, and Renza Brinkley; and sister, Lala Brinkley Byerly.
Surviving are a son, Chuck Stanley Darr and wife, Shirley, of Welcome; grandchildren, Mark Stanley Darr and wife, Charla, and Shelly Darr Norman; great-grandchildren, Matthew Aaron Darr, Makayla BreAnne Darr, Dustin Gray Norman; and sisters, Ethel Brinkley Crowell of Richfield and Elsie Brinkley Fritts and husband, Paul, of Welcome; sisters-in-law, Alice Brinkley, Betty Brinkley and numerous nieces and nephews.
