Thelma Maxine Langley

Thelma Maxine Gibson (Royall) Langley, a cherished and devoted member of the Lexington Community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on Sunday, June 8, 1941, to Hugh Elijah Gibson and Omie Leathers. Thelma’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and an enduring love for her family and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Charles Royall and George Langley, a son, Randy Royall, two brothers, Ernest Gibson and Albert Gibson, and two sisters, Norma Lanning and Wanda Poe.

Surviving are her three daughters, Delores Smith, Ronda Royall, and Catherine Huggins, all of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Inman (Emily), Christopher Hill (Heather), Robert Oakley (Melissa), Charles Inman (Karen), and Charlie Royall; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Thelma will be remembered for her warm spirit and giving nature. She was a pillar of strength in her community, known for her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM after the visitation, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating, where the community will gather to celebrate a life well lived and to say a heartfelt farewell to an exceptional woman who touched many lives.

Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

In this time of mourning, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and neighbors.
