Thelma Biesecker Leonard, 85, of James Street, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Carolina House in Lexington.
The funeral will be 3 pm Friday, March 12, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home on James Street.
Mrs. Leonard was born February 24, 1925, in Davidson County, to Zeb Vance Biesecker and Stella Byerly Biesecker. She was retired office manager at Kraft Foods and enjoyed teaching craft classes in needle point and crochet at her home for many years. Mrs. Leonard was a member of Lexington Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse H. Leonard; brother, Jerry Biesecker; and sisters, Nellie B. Wilson and Lucille B. Haupt.
Surviving are son, Ron Leonard and wife, Jo, of Lexington; daughter, Janet Church of Lexington; grandchildren, Kevin Leonard and wife, Mindy, Carmen Grammer and husband, Erik, and Charles Church and wife, Allison; stepgrandchildren, Smith Thompson, Robert Thompson, and Anne Gould; great grandchildren, Sophia Grammer, Maceo Grammer and Landon Church; and step-great-grandchild, Nathan Gould; brothers, Coy Vance Biesecker and Willie June Biesecker, both of Lexington; and a sister, Ronda Frost of Duluth, Ga.
