Thelma Walser Pickle

Thelma Lee Walser Pickle, 64, of Perryman Road, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Clemmons Nursing and Rehab Center. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Good Hope United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Chris Bennett. Burial will follow at the church's cemetery. Mrs. Pickle was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Davidson County to Olin Walser and Eliza Catherine Craver Walser. She was retired from Eckerd Drug Co. She had been in declining health for four years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Walser. Surviving are her husband, William Franklin Pickle of the home; two sons, William Clyde "Billy" Pickle and his wife, Angela, of Welcome, and Marty Dale Perrell and partner Joe Aiello of California; a daughter, Amy Leigh Surratt and her husband, Eric, of Advance; a brother, Steve Walser and his wife, Betsy, of Welcome; four sisters, Elsie Yarbrough of Lexington, Marie Grubb of Welcome, Betty Weaver and her husband, Homer, of Lexington and Pauline Byerly of Clemmons; and three grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Pickle and Ethan William Pickle of Welcome and Maty Catherine Surratt of Advance. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Centers of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, is serving the family.
