Thelma Jean Mae Dotson Trent, 70, of Junior Order Home Road, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center, following an automobile accident.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lexington Church of God, where she was a member, with the Revs. Rodney Merrill, Todd Kiger and David Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016, and other times at the home of her daughter on Estates Drive.
Mrs. Trent was born December 5, 1945, in Mingo County, WV, to Charlie Dotson and Arleen Birchfield Dotson. She was retired from Sealy Mattress Company. At her church she was the Sunday school superintendent.
Surviving are her loving husband, David Trent, of the home; daughter, Brenda Gathings and husband Sonny of Lexington; son, David Wayne Trent and wife Dana of Asheboro; grandchildren, Candice Findley and husband Jayce, Ashley Brooks, Hannah Ellis, Timothy Ellis, Sumer Trent, Brianna Hicks, Stormi Trent, Logan Hicks, Hunter Trent, and Harley Trent; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Findley, Liam Findley, Preston Brooks, Peyton Brooks, and Natalie Brower; brothers, Clifford Dotson and wife Margie and Everette Dotson and friend Charles Blair; all of Lexington; and sister, Diane Cantwell of Lexington.
