Thomas Alton Bruff, age 97 of Century Street, Lexington died Sunday night at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Don Leonard and burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Alton was born in Davidson County, May 10, 1910 to Walter Alfred Bruff and Bonnie Clyde Russell Bruff. He was a retired employee of Lexington Chair Co. and later worked for Young Hinkle Furniture, a member of Second United Church of Christ, and a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline Bruff, Sons; Joe and Buford Bruff, Granddaughter; Jan, Brothers; Hoyle, Lewis and Lawrence Bruff, sisters; Lonnie Goss and Mary Driver and Step-Daughter; Sheran Williams.
Surviving are: Wife; Inez West Bruff of the home, Son; Tommy Bruff of Lexington, 9 Grandchildren; Cathy, Donna, Myra, Cheryl, Robert, Paula, Leonard and Tim, 14 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Brothers; Calvin Bruff of Lexington, Step-Daughters; Barbara Bennett, Dayton Stephens and Sandra Falk all of Chesapeake, Virginia,
6 Step-Grandchildren and 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
