Thomas Hedrick

Thomas "Tom" Kinley Hedrick, 83, of Smith Road, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at his home after six weeks of illness. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hedrick's Grove United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. John Roberts. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Hedrick was born May 18, 1923, in Davidson County to William "Bill" Hedrick and Ida Belle Bowers Hedrick. He retired in 1986 from United Furniture Co. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elaine Bowers Hedrick, who died Feb. 1, 2005; and three brothers, Coy Hedrick, Olin Hedrick and Grove Hedrick. Surviving are one son, Kin Hedrick and his wife, Brenda, of Lexington; one daughter, Judy Little and her companion, Ray Fletcher, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jerry S. Little and his wife, Abby, of Clemmons and Michael S. Hedrick of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren, Allison and Justin Little; and one sister-in- law, Evelyn Hedrick of Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of his daughter, 333 Waterbury Place.
