Thomas "Tom" Hollander

Thomas 'Tom' Alois Hollander, 73, of Old Thomasville Road, Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home.A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home.Mr. Hollander was born May 29, 1944 in Grant County, Wisconsin to Norman Francis Hollander and Joyce Fleming Hollander.  Tom was retired from the United States Air Force and also the Department of Veterans Affairs.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed racing slot cars.  Mr. Hollander was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Kathy Hollander.Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Ann Atkins Hollander, of the home; two daughters; Tammy Graves (Rick) of Arizona, Tracy Sanchez (Jeremy) of New Mexico; one step-daughter, Tonya Cromer of Lewisville; one step-son, Scott Cromer (Patty) of Danbury; two brothers, Terry Hollander of Wisconsin and Rick Hollander (Marilyn) of Iowa; one sister, Jill Day (Steve) of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Zackary Sanchez, Madilynn Sanchez, Eric Cromer, Tyler Cromer, Chasity Cromer and Garrett Graves (Molly); two great-grandchildren, Christina Camerone and Hayden Graves; one aunt, Doris Slaats (Merlin), and several nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to Friends in Need of Animal Rescue, 1507 Wild Life, Lexington, NC 27292.Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, is assisting the family.
