Adrian Neal, age 93 of Thomasville formerly of Lexington passed away Monday October 21, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 24, 2024, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kirk Tutterrow and Rev. Cheryl Skinner officiating. Burial will be private at Lexington City Cemtery. There will be no public visitation, but the public can come by Davidson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, between noon and 4:00 PM and paid their respects. Adrian was born in Davidson County on April 19, 1931 to William Thomas Neal and Pauline Hubbard Neal. Adrian was a retired educator having taught in Gibsonville, Randleman and Davidson County Schools of Davis Townsend, Denton and Central Davidson High School. Adrain was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church and he always considered the church family as his family. At the church he was a charter member of the Adult Fellowship Class where he taught or assisted for 40 years; a member of the United Methodist Men, served on the Administrative Board, Council on Ministries, Past Chairman of the Evangelism Committee, served as a Delegate to the Western North Carolina Conference, was a former certified Lay speaker, member of The Stephen Ministries, served 22 years as a Counselor for Summer Youth Camp. He was a member of Memorial Masonic Lodge #474 and Order of The Eastern Star. He volunteered with Lexington Memorial Hospital, member of Carolina Crescent Telephone Pioneers, Life member of National Education Association, North Carolina Assocation of Educators and member of the Lexington and Davidson County Retired School Personnel. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Kathryn Nifong Neal who passed away October 2, 2017. Adrain had no immediate family survivors, but he made many friends over the years. Those friends from church, Piedmont crossing or just one he meet who became close to Adrian he would want to thank each of you for your love and friendship even to the end, and a special thank you to John McCutheon for all your support and friendship to Adrian.
