Thomas Gene Owens

Thomas Owens, 70, of Belmont Road, Linwood died Thursday, July 08, 2010, at Topsail Beach. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Messer officiating. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service. Mr. Owens was born October 23, 1939 in Davidson County to James Clay Owens and Ellen Louise Kiger Owens. He was a retired employee of PPG and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Owens was born October 23, 1939, in Davidson County, to James Clay Owens and Ellen Louise Kiger Owens. He was married to Joyce McBride Owens, who died in 1999. Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Terry Clay Owens Sr.; daughter, Tina Luann Owens; and a brother, Roger Owens. Surviving are daughter, Rhonda O. McNutt and husband, David, of Hartselle, Al.; stepson, Scott Miller and family of Salisbury; stepdaughter, Crystal Davis and husband, Mike, of Salisbury; grandchildren, Blake McNutt and wife, Amanda, Dustin McNutt, Bradley Gray and wife, Laura, all of Hartselle, Al.; Terry Clay Owens Jr., Timothy Owens and family, Christopher Owens and family, all of Lexington; Ashley Owens and family and Jeremy Owens and family all of Winston-Salem; and nine great-grandchildren; brother Larry Owens of Lexington; sisters Carrie Beck and Joyce Bevans and family of both of Lexington.
