Thomas Murray Rogers

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy"  Murray Rogers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Thomas passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 89, in his home in Lexington, NC.

Born on September 16, 1935, in North Carolina, Tommy lived a life marked by dedication, love, and resilience. A devoted husband to Barbara Jo Spry Rogers, Tommy cherished his family above all else. He was a proud father to sons Tony "Scott" Rogers and wife Ling, Kelvin Mark Rogers and wife Jane, and daughter Tina Rogers Schofield and husband James. Tommy's gentle spirit and values continue through his treasured grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Schofield and husband David Schumacker, Adam Schofield, Summer Ling Schreiner and husband Joel, Zachary "Zac" Rogers, as well as his great-grandchild, Jude Schreiner.

Tommy's legacy in the community included many years of committed work at the High Point Enterprise. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, offering guidance, wisdom, and love at every opportunity. Tommy enjoyed and loved his church family at Restoration Community Church.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, McRae Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Rogers, his brother Bobby Lee Rogers and wife Phyllis, and his sister Sarah Rogers Varner. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Rogers and wife Swannie, Ronald Roy Rogers and wife Kaye, and brother-in-law Barry Varner, who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share in his memory.

A funeral service to honor Tommy’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Pastor Gary McGhee officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest during an entombment ceremony at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family expresses their profound gratitude for the care provided by Davidson Funeral Home and warmly welcomes those wishing to pay their respects to join them in honoring Thomas’s remarkable journey in life.
