Thomas Gray Sheets, 80, of Fairview Drive, Lexington died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at his home after several months of declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Howell, III officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with Graveside Rites by Davidson County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, and other times at the home of the son, Beaver Dam Creek Rd., Lexington.
Mr. Sheets was born November 14, 1931 in Davidson County to Edgar H. Sheets and Etrulia Goings Sheets. He was Owner/Operator of B & B Laundry and Dry Cleaners, and Friendly Cleaners. A veteran of the US Army, he was a member of the VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8, Masonic Lodge 473 and a member of Central Carolina Civitans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Stutts Sheets, September 22, 2006, a daughter, Patricia (Patti) Delsky, and a brother, Jim Sheets.
Surviving are a son, Eddie Sheets and wife, Sandee of Lexington; three grandchildren, Stephen Sheets and wife, Wendy, Matthew Sheets and wife, Katie, Paulina Sheets; two great grandsons, Ethan Thomas Sheets and Logan Roger Sheets.
