Thomas Avery Story of Welcome Bethesda Road, passed away Thursday evening at Forsyth Medical Center after a sudden illness. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday (11-30-2009) in the chapel of Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. He was born in Forsyth County on July 27, 1934 to James Clark and Sena Blevins Story. Before retirement he was an inspector with Wilson Pest Control, a veteran of the US Army and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James C. Story Jr. and a sister Lois A. Bledsoe.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Y. Story of the home; two sons Charles D. Story of Virginia Beach, Va. and Timothy W. Story of Florida; three step-sons Eddie Collins of Winston-Salem, Terry Surratt and Jerry Surratt and wife Lynda both of Lexington; two step-daughters Tammie Sanders and husband Ronnie of Churchland, and Penny York of Welcome; a sister Juanita E. Cude of Kernersville
14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday.
