Thomas “Tom” Harley Harrison, 77, of Warf Road, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Tabernacle, where he attended, with the Revs. Thomas Todd and Roy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrison was born September 26, 1941, in Squire, West Virginia to James Joseph Harrison and Nellie Billings Harrison. He was a security guard for Stanley Furniture as long as his health allowed. He later enjoyed quilting and crocheting. He created many quilts for family and friends. His joy was in the prayer shawls he croched for the hospice homes in High Point and Lexington. He also enjoyed putting puzzles together. He was such a gifted man and will be missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn JoAnn “Teeny” King Harrison; a son, Joseph Paul Harrison; and a dear friend, Jane Osborn.
Surviving are his sons, Tommy Harrison (Danylla) of Lexington, and Randy Harrison (Semi) of Killeen, Texas; daughter, Melissa Wilson of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, AJ Nance (Liz), Bethany Ruffner (Matt), Jennifer Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Jake Wilson, and Jesica Rogers (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Nelleigh, Evey, and Jac; and sisters, Sue Franks (Roy) of Lexington and Gay Johnson (Jack) of Old Fort; and his loving neighbor, Kyle Baker and family.
Memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or the Diabetes Association.
