Thurman Trevoie Koonts

Thurman Trevoie Koonts, 73, of Winston Road, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Koonts was born March 15, 1936, in Iredell County, to Arthur Robert Dewey Koonts and Sadie Bell Hill Koonts. He was a machine operator at Burlington Furniture. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Marion Koonts, two sisters, Magadeline Davis and Martha Wilson. Surviving are sons, Ricky Trevoie Koonts and Robert Carl Koonts and wife, Crystal, all of Lexington; daughters, Vicki Jo Carlton of Statesville, and Donna Marie Miller and husband, Steve, of Lexington; five grandchildren, Kevin Thompson, Ray Thompson, Jr., Martha James, Brian Koonts and wife, Kim, Dustin Koonts and three great grandchildren, Jade Koonts, Nicole Gibby and Brianna Thompson. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall, and other times at the home of Donna Miller on Michael Rd.
