Thurman Lee Neal, Jr.

Thurman Lee Neal, Jr. “TL”, 76, of Southmont, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday February 17, 2021. TL was born in Walkertown, North Carolina on June 15, 1944 to the late Ailene Craig Neal and Thurman “Bud” Lee Neal, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and older brother, Ronnie Lane Neal. TL loved spending time outside deer hunting and bass fishing. He loved racing and operating heavy machinery. In his later years he enjoyed riding around the community in his Kawasaki Mule checking up on his friendly and loving neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruby Redmon Neal; one son, Michael Kevin Neal (Torena); three grandchildren Garrett Austin Neal, Meredyth Brooke Neal, and Madison Faith Neal; one sister-in-law Carolyn Beck Neal of Charlottesville, V.A.; two nieces Jacqueline Paige Neal (Paul Casalaspi) of Midothian, V.A. and Kristie Lane Packer (James) of Midothian, V.A and one nephew Rob Landon Neal (Merribeth) of Charlottesville, V.A. There will be no formal memorial service at this time, however, the family welcomes friends and family to celebrate his life, tell stories, and share memories at the home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Services of Davidson County.
