Tim “Slick” David Leonard, 68, of Davidson County, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A funeral will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 PM, with Richard Britt officiating.

Tim was born on September 7, 1957, in Yadkin County, to the late Tommy David Leonard and Nellie Ruth Dinkins Leonard. Growing up, he worked on his grandpa’s farm, feeding and raising pigs, and looking after the land. Upon graduation from high school, he began his career and worked for many years at Parkdale Mills as a technician. Tim was a hard worker and found fulfillment in providing for his family, but when he wasn’t working, he was playing with his cars, drag racing, and fitting out his custom Camero.

Simplicity was in his spirit as he didn’t need extravagance to enjoy life. Deep sea fishing and being on the water was where he felt the most at peace, and the beach and calming ocean brought him balance.

The most important aspect of Tim’s life, however, was his family. He was an exceptionally devoted husband and lived to love Tracie, his wife of 38 years. Spending time together going to the beach, the mountains, or staying home and watching their grandchildren every Saturday, was when his heart felt whole.

Along with his parents, he is reunited in death with his two brothers, Mark and Dallas Leonard, and his sister, Christine Driver.

Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Tracie Leonard, of the home; children, Nikki Chun, of Mocksville, NC, and Andrew Scott Leonard (Lee Ann), of Cleveland, NC; and grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Hayden, Southern, Lily, and Kearson.

His light will shine through all who he touched throughout his life.
