T.J. Younts, Jr.

October 1, 1930 — March 2, 2014

Thomas Jefferson "TJ" Younts Jr., 83, of George Hege Road, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his home after several years of declining health. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tim Everhart. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Younts was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Davidson County to Thomas Jefferson Younts Sr. and Edna Byerly Younts. He was self-employed as an auto body repairman and a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Frances Stroud Younts on May 19, 2005; two brothers, K.W. Younts and Raymond Younts; and four sisters, Mabel James, Ethel Hartley, Susie Hoffman and Mildred Hoffman. Surviving are two sons, Gary Younts (Rita) of Lexington and Jeffery Michael (Paula) of Denton; daughter Johna "Honey" Bryant (Billy) of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, Brad Younts, Adam Younts, Paige Pope, Brandy Davis, Pam Widner, Brittany Jacobs, Heath Younts, Cara Everhart, Casey Smith, Tonya Williams and Teresa Snider; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Carrie Walser of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Davidson County.
