Tom Tetter

John Thomas “Tom” Tetter Sr., 83, of Lexington, passed away July 12, 2024 at Hinkle Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 14 at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with Pastor Keith Carroll. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

Tom was born December 5, 1940, in Davidson County, NC to Terry and Lessie Lanning Tetter. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. Tom was an agent with American General Insurance Company. After his retirement, Tom delivered the Dispatch for 13 years, often with his wife by his side. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, working in the yard, fishing at the coast, and woodworking gave him great joy in his life.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Lessie.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 66 years, Joyce Mabe Tetter, his son, Thomas Tetter (Megan), daughter, Cindy Hedrick, (Ray), 3 grandchildren; Bradley (Michelle), Matthew (Chelsea), and Benjamin, and 4 great-grandchildren; Brayden, Leeah, Noah, and Adeline.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church and/or Hospice of Davidson County.
