Tom Byrd Wilson

Tom Byrd Wilson, 83, of Lexington, passed away Saturday 12-20-2014 at the NC State Veterans Home, Salisbury, NC. A service in his memory will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday 12-23-2014 at Unity Baptist Church, 145 Fishel Road, Winston, Salem, with Pastors Benny Sprouse and John C. Woods officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the National Cemetery in Salisbury NC. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Tom was born April 11, 1931 in Rockingham County, to John Eldridge Wilson and Bessie Carter Wilson. He was retired from Salem Steel as an estimator/sales representative. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church for 50 years and an active member of the Yokefellow Prison Ministry for 25 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by his wife Eloise “Cookie” Wilson of the home; daughters, Tonya Wilson Lankford and husband Kenneth, and Carmen Suzanne Wilson; sister, Betty Wilson Joyce and husband Rudolph.
